Scholarships

Scholarships and Grants

ThaiTESOL administers and coordinates scholarships and grants on an annual basis for the benefit of ThaiTESOL members. The purpose of these scholarships is to improve both the English language skills and teaching skills of the members. There are travel grants and two categories of scholarship - one for training aboard, the other for training in Thailand

 

ANNOUNCEMENT

ThaiTESOL Scholarships and Grants 2010

ThaiTESOL is pleased to invite applications for scholarships and grants available to ThaiTESOL members through the generous support from various international and local organizations.  There are over 10 travel grants and two categories of scholarships available, one for language upgrading/training abroad, the other in Thailand.  Applications can be made to only one scholarship/grant at a time.  Applications from public primary and secondary school teachers will be given preference.

1.      General Criteria

1.1     Be a ThaiTESOL member and hold Thai citizenship

1.2     Have never received the same scholarship before.

1.3     Meet specific criteria of the scholarship.

1.4  Attend the conference

1.5     Be present at the Award Ceremony on January 30, 2010.

2.      Details of Scholarships and Grants

                        2.1            Language Courses in Thailand

                        2.2.1 The English and Computer College Scholarship (ECC)

-       one week training courses on teaching English to Yong learners

-        two weeks TESOL training courses at ECC (Thailand) in Bangkok, Chiangmai and Phuket

                        2.2.2            The American University Alumni Language center Scholarship (AUA) 

-       course at the AUA during the 2010 school holidays.

2.2   Travel Grants

Travel grants of 5,000 Baht each are for the support of an EFL professional to attend the 7th AsiaTEFL International Conference at ThaiTESOL, Bangkok, Thailand. Preference will be given to applicants who have never attended a ThaiTESOL Conference. Over 10 grants will be available

3.      Selection Criteria

3.1 All applications are evaluated according to the applicant's scholarship, personal attributes and involvement in and commitment to EFL teaching and the profession 

4.      To Apply

4.1 All local scholarships and travel grants: Please send one copiy of Application Form (You can download the form at www.thaitesol.org) and two 2 inch recent photos to the address or e-mail stated in the form no later than January 20, 2010
